The Last Time We Met (Formerly “This Week”)
What a timely presentation we had at our last meeting. Ellen brought in Helena DaSilva Hughes, Executive Director of the Immigrants Assistant Center. Started in 1971 by a group of Portuguese immigrant business folk, this group has worked to help immigrants transition to citizens. With all the confusion in the news currently about immigration, Helena shared information on how the system works (or in some cases, doesn’t work). Thank for this informative presentation. For more information go to www.immigrantsassistancecenter.org

Odds and Ends
If you are late to the meeting, please make sure to check in to receive credit. When reviewing attendance at board meetings, we often discover someone did not get credit who we think was in attendance.
Some notes: Ellen has agreed to be membership chair. Thank you for taking on this challenge. Let her know if you would like to help. Also, the board is planning a summer outing with Bridge Home. More information to follow.
PAW SOX DAY
Every year the Paw Sox host a day to recognize all the clubs in the district. Carole asked that club members join her for this fun day so she isn’t the only one. You can even walk on the field for the singing of the National Anthem and the first pitch. It is a 7:05 pm game on August 17. See link in District and RI Reminders.
Needed: Foundation Chair. Carole has served this role for many years and would like someone to do it while she is president.
Needed: Editor and/or writers for the GAM.
LUNCH PROGRAMS 2018-2019
President Elect John will be looking for help to fill the lunch program for the following year. If you would like to take a month (or a portion of), it would be a great help to him. If you have idea, suggestions or requests, let us know. July is complete (Thank you Ellen!!)
Dues are due. Yes, it’s that time where Rotary International and District will be looking for the semiannual dues. Any questions, please check with Lisa. The club must pay Rotary International and the district in July. Please do your best to submit payment in a timely fashion.
