Rotary Club of New Bedford, MA - Weekly GAM

GAM...A nautical term describing the exchange of news between vessels departing from and returning to their ports...

Feb 15, 2017

This Week

Another light crowd but we did a bit better in the tune carrying department.  Carl brought in Daniel Mumbauer, (who the PE monopolized at lunch with “boy scout” talk), the CEO of the High Point Treatment Center, as our guest speaker.  Mr. Mumbauer shared the continuum of services offered by High Point and their other subsidiaries. He listed everything from inpatient services through community based services covering individuals, families, teens and adults.  High Point and their programs have helped people in all walks of life in the communities of Brockton, Fall River, Manomet, Middleborough, New Bedford, Plymouth and Taunton to name just a few.

See notes below about upcoming meetings.  Just want to share that two prospective members are invited to our March 1st lunch meeting.  It would be nice to have a good showing this day.

One More Thing – An Orren Classic

City slicker - “What does your son do?”

Farmer - “He’s a bootblack in the city”

City slicker - “Oh, I see, you make hay while the son shines.”
